	Anne Rice, the author of this book, tells the story of a vampire very different than all the other stories of vampires. Unlike any other story of the kind, she describes them as noble creatures capable to love, hate and live like humans do.
This book tells the story of Louis, a young man living in New Orleans who becomes an eternal habitant of the night. Louis, overtaken by the guilt caused by his brother’s death, whishes his own death in order to stop his agony. However, after beginning his supernatural life, he becomes invaded by human feelings, like the love he feels and bonds him to one of his victims.
